April 21 AND 22 (Friday AND Saturday)
Heirloom Sewing By Machine
Teacher: Margaret Tully
10 AM – 4 PM
$99

Let Margaret show you how to let your machine needle do the “hand work” in French hand sewing. You will need a sewing machine in good working order with a perfectly balanced stitch. Then the world of heirloom sewing is yours. You will learn rolled and whipped edges, joining laces to fabrics, joining laces to laces, and working with entredeux and other French trims. In class Margaret will guide you through the construction of a little French bonnet, made entirely on your sewing machine, as well as giving you tips that will help you with garment construction as well. You’ll be on your way to making pintucks, puffing and other embellishments. It won’t be long until you’ll be planning your first major project, like an Easter dress or Christening gown or John John suit. These techniques may even be used on adult garments and home dec projects. Kit included. Two day class.
